Frequently asked questions
Everything about Crewnum's weekly team trivia in one place. New here? Start with how it works.
What is Crewnum?
Crewnum is weekly team trivia that runs over email. Everyone on a team adds a few true facts about themselves, and each week a short quiz asks the team to guess whose fact is whose. It is built for workplace teams, including remote and hybrid ones, and needs no app and no passwords.
How does the weekly quiz work?
Each week Crewnum builds a quiz from facts your teammates have added. Every question shows one fact and asks you to pick which colleague it belongs to. There is no timer. You see your score as soon as you finish, along with the team leaderboard for that quiz and for all time.
When does the quiz arrive?
Team quizzes go out on Friday mornings, in your team's own time zone. Nobody has to schedule anything: the timing is automatic.
Do people need to install an app or create an account with a password?
No. Crewnum has no app and no passwords. Every email carries a personal sign-in link, and everything works in the browser on a phone or a laptop.
What kind of facts do people add?
Anything true about themselves that a colleague might not know: a place they have lived, the worst job they ever had, a skill that never comes up at work. A fact can be typed, or added as a photo, a short video or a voice clip of up to fifteen seconds. Each empty slot offers a suggestion for anyone who is stuck.
What happens if someone never adds a fact?
Nothing. They can still play and guess, and they are simply not one of the answers that week. Crewnum never chases people for facts and never reports to a manager on who has or has not taken part.
How do people join a team?
The person who starts the team shares one join link, for example in a team chat. Colleagues open it, enter their name and work email, and they are in. Crewnum never emails anyone who has not joined.
Does it work for remote and hybrid teams?
Yes. The whole game runs through email and the browser, so it does not depend on a meeting, a video call or everyone being online at the same time. Each person plays whenever suits them.
How much does Crewnum cost?
Teams of up to 5 people are free. Larger teams pay for seats in packs of 10, monthly or yearly, and one pack covers everyone on the team up to that size. The pricing page shows the current price in your currency.
What are leagues and Summits?
A league lets several teams in the same organisation play each other, with a shared round every two weeks drawn from facts across all of them. Leagues can join a Summit, a larger competition with a round every four weeks. Both are free and cost nothing on top of a team.
Is our data private?
Crewnum runs no trackers and no ad networks, never sells personal data, and never uses customer data to train AI models. Every member can export or delete their own data at any time, and Crewnum never runs face recognition or any biometric processing on photos, video or audio.
How long does it take to set up?
About two minutes. Enter your team name and work email, share the join link, and the first quiz goes out once a few people have added facts.
Can I try it before starting a team?
Yes. The demo quiz is a real Crewnum quiz played against a made-up team. It needs no sign-up and saves nothing.
